Cruising from Sydney, provides a relaxing and idyllic holiday. There are so many great cruise destinations to choose from and not only are most things included in your cruise package, your hotel floats with you. No packing and unpacking, carting luggage as you go. Whether you would like to cruise around New Zealand or visit some Pacific islands, here are just a few of the cruises that you can book that depart from Sydney.
Pacific Island Cruise (10 Nights)
It’s been a few years since we embarked on this cruise, but it was certainly one of our favourites. If you love pristine beaches and clear blue seas, this is the cruise for you. After two days at sea, the ship arrives in New Caledonia, where you can spend the entire day exploring the culture, history and the beautiful harbour.
That evening, you set sail for Vanuatu, a tropical paradise, where you can spend a couple of days exploring this amazing island. Snorkelling in the harbour was our favourite activity. Next you visit Mystery Island, where you can walk along the white sandy beaches and cool off in the pristine waters., Only two more a days at sea returns you Sydney. There are a range of tour companies offering Pacific Island cruises, but it is well worth researching the cheapest deals for cruises from Sydney If you are prepared to leave at short notice, there are some amazing last-minute deals.
New Zealand Cruise (21 Nights)
This is one has been on our bucket list for a while. Hopefully we’ll make it next year. It is of the most popular of the many Sydney based cruises, which actually calls in at the port of Eden,an hour down the coast from us before sailing off to New Zealand. Ports of call include Milford Sound, Kaikoura, Wellington and Dunedin. Before sailing back to Sydney, you get to spend a few days exploring the Pacific Islands, starting with Vanuatu. The next cruise departs on September 26th but there’s still have time to make a booking or research some of the great cruise options over the summer months.

Circumnavigate Australia (51 Nights)
One day we’d love to take this monumental cruise that takes you around the coast of Australia, also visiting New Zealand. Departing from Sydney Harbour, you first cruise to New Zealand, stopping off at Port Chalmers, Christchurch, Napier and Auckland. The ship then begins the long journey around Australia, starting with a Pacific Island visit to New Caledonia and Vanuatu.
The ship docks at Airlie Beach before travelling on to Darwin, then out to the famous Komodo Island off the coast of Indonesia. After that,it visits Broome, Exmouth, Fremantle and Albany making its way back towards the southern part of Australia. The cruise includes a visit to Burnie, Tasmania, then on to Eden and finally back to Sydney. This is an epic cruise that takes almost two months, and if you are a seasoned cruise passenger, this package will suit you perfectly.
South Pacific Cruise (4 Nights)
If you’ve never been on a cruise before and are unsure if cruising is for you, a short cruise is a great introduction to life at sea. A four night cruise from Sydney, heads to Moreton Island, just off the Brisbane coast of Brisbane, where you can spend the day exploring the city. A slow return trip to Sydney finishes off this short cruise. If you really enjoyed the experience, you can book a longer cruise for next year.

These are are just a few that sail out of Sydney. With a little research, you’re bound to find the ideal cruise for you and enjoy a dream holiday.
